’O Arjun, I am seated in the heart of all living entities. I am the beginning, middle, and end of all beings.’
Bhagavad Gītā 10.20
Below is Lauren’s interpretation of 10.20 – you can read Hamish’s words on the same sloka here.
In this sloka, Krishna declares he is the Ātman, the eternal soul that lives within all sentient beings. The divine is not something separate and far away. It rests within us as the eternal observer, witnessing our thoughts actions and emotions. All living beings are connected through Krishna’s divinity. This knowledge allows us to look within, to practise self-inquiry and to recognise the divinity within ourselves other living beings. Holding this knowledge in mind can help us love ourselves and others as we would Divine Lord Krishna, the origin, sustainer and dissolver of all existence.
