December Gītā: 3.14

Oh so many to choose from. So I’m going with random opening of book to…

annād bhavanti bhūtāni
parjanyād anna sambhavaḥ
yajñād bhavati parjanyo
yajñaḥ karma samudbhavaḥ

’Beings are created from food, food is created from rain clouds, rain clouds are created from sacrifice and sacrifice is created from action.’
Bhagavad Gita 3.14

Considering the environment and our place in that. We are indeed in a fragile place. The Bhagavad Gita puts this very simply. We need nourishment from the world. Food grows with the help of rain. In ancient times sacrifices were made for Indra the God of rain. All our actions effect the world we live in. Nourishment of course is not just food, but spiritual knowledge too. And rain clouds are not just fluffy and wet but represent the universal dharma of karma we all shelter under. We should make all our actions a sacrifice, making each action sacred.
