Yoga therapy with Lauren Munday
As well as being a philosophy of life, yoga has many therapeutic benefits making it helpful to those suffering from a specific condition or illness. A regular yoga practice has been shown to assist with (among other things) pain management, fatigue, hypertension, diabetes, stress, anxiety, depression and sleeplessness.
Yoga therapy sessions at AYL aim to support those who are unable to attend regular drop-in sessions but are interested in exploring how yoga can be of help to them. Participants don’t need any previous yoga experience to attend, and payment is by donation to ensure that finance is also not a limiting factor.
Classes are small with no more than 6-8 participants. Students will focus on the fundamental aspect of yoga and life – the breath, and develop a practice suited to their needs.
Yoga therapy can be practised alongside any medical treatments and in conjunction with any other alternative treatments. Participants will be asked to complete a short health questionnaire prior to attending.
If you are interested in attending or have any questions, please email Lauren.
Payment by donation (suggested £5.00).
Thursdays 12.00pm starting from 10th November 2016.
Lauren has been practising at AYL since 2007 and visiting Mysore annually since 2010. She received Authorisation Level 1 to teach from KPJAYI in 2013 and has a diploma in Yoga Therapy, which she gained through Yoga Campus. She is passionate about making the benefits of a regular yoga practice accessible to all.
