Information and tips for beginners to Astanga yoga

–  Please take off your shoes and turn off your mobile phone on entering the shala
–  We have mats for you to borrow, or bring your own if you prefer
–  Wear clothing you can move easily in (shorts or leggings and a vest is perfect) and be prepared to sweat: you may want to bring a small hand towel
–  Yoga is practised bare foot
–  Don’t eat a main meal for at least 2 hours before practice
–  Try not to drink water during practice
–  Be patient: students are encouraged to take their time rather than risk injury
